AL HAYL CASTLE AND BITNAH FORT- Fujairah, United Arab Emirates
These are the two unique sites in Fujairah. Both are beautiful and very old. Al Hayl Castle was built 250 years ago and formerly used as headquarters for the Royal family and used before for patrolling, surveillance and to defend the area as well as the ruling family.
While Bitnah Fort is near Fujairah on the main highway,from Hajar mountains through Wadi Ham, visitors can see this Fort. This was built in 1735 and very famous in Fujairah because of its walls that have decorated similar to the designs of the Majis walls.
FUJAIRAH FORT - Fujairah, United Arab Emirates
It was constructed on 1670 on the hill at the edge of date garden and known to be the oldest fort in the uAE. It is the only Fort that was not converted to become a museum. It was the residence of the ruling family and also used for defense. This fort consists of three sections, multiple halls, one square-shaped tower and two round-shaped towers. The re-construction of the Fujairah fort to its former beauty was completed about more than four years.
HAJAR MOUNTAIN - Fujairah, United Arab Emirates
This you will find driving through Masafi place in Fujairah and it's near the famous Ain Al Madhab Gardens. Hajar Mountain simply means "Stone Mountains" in Arabic. Here there are amazing views only somewhat stained by ugly power pylons, quarry scars and quarry dust. This place is ideal for hiking and you will find abandoned stone dwellings, storage buildings and even forts that date back to as early as 2000 BC. Goat and wild donkey trails lead you up and up into the tumbled rocks capes. You may spot lizards, snakes, wildcats or hunting birds. Enjoy the only sound in the grand silence of the hills of smaller birds like larks, Bee-eaters, Bulbuls and Wheatears sing in the wadis and peaks.
