NATIONAL MUSEUM - Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates
Rich heritage of Ras Al Khaimah is placed in its National museum. It feature the collections of archaeological material mostly from excavations conducted over the last 20 years; ethnographic material depicting the traditional way of Ras al-Khaimah's people and natural history specimens such as shells, fossils and rocks.
The Museum is situated near to the main police station. In early 19th century, it was a fort and residence of the of the Sheikh of Ras al-Khaimah. This time the museum is considered as one of the beautiful museum in the Gulf and has one of the few working wind towers left in the UAE.During summer visitors can relax underneath the pleasant sea breeze it catches.
